ZONE DIET PLAN
The Zone Diet strives to achieve ideal metabolic balance every time you eat. Meals are a balance of simple carbohydrates (40%), low-fat protein (30%) and monounsaturated fats (30%). The Zone is designed for you to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks daily. Breakfast should be eaten within one hour of waking. Lunch should be eaten within 5 hours of breakfast. A snack should be eaten within 5 hours of lunch. Dinner should be eaten within 2 hours of your snack. A late night snack should be eaten before going to bed. While no foods are really off limits, the plan is heavy on fruits and vegetables while reducing grains and starchy vegetables.

Pros
Steady, healthy weight loss with large portion sizes. Increases energy. A wide variety of foods allowed.

Cons
A little complicated and must plan meal ahead.

The Bottom Line
Once you master the slight learning curve of this plan, you can successfully enjoy healthy weight loss and increased energy, while enjoying large portion sizes.
